Timeshare Alternative: No Hidden Fees, Slippery-Tounged Salespeople or Lifetime Commitment

Over the last several decades, the popularity of timeshares has grown by many folds. So much so that over two million Americans have timeshare properties, both in and out of the country. But the rise of timeshare industry also saw the rise in scams and frauds. More recently the timeshare industry has been plagued by unscrupulous activities of frauds and scammers. Notwithstanding these serious problems with timeshares a new breed of alternatives are emerging. One of the main reasons why people were attracted towards timeshares was that it will be an expensive affair for a big family to vacation every year at a hotel or a resort. Timeshares proved to be an economical solution to all that.

Most times, a timeshare property provides a good value for its cost. However, there are large upfront purchase costs, which must be paid. Purchase prices can range from $5,000-$50,000. Furthermore, the owner of
the property is responsible for property taxes and make as well as maintenance and management fees that support the upkeep of the property. These fees can range from $200 to more than $1000 per year. Occasionally these fees outweigh the long-term benefits of timeshare ownership.

Exchange programs allow a timeshare owner to trade the use of their property for the use of a property at a different location. However not all timeshare properties offer this option. Even when they do they're usually fees associated with the exchange. Selling a timeshare can also be very difficult. It is not common to see timeshares selling at 40% reduction from their original price.

When you've realized you've made a mistake and want out of your timeshare there's crooks waiting for you on that side of the transaction, too. Now, less than honest salespeople are the exception rather than the rule, but ten thousand complaints from just one state is something to consider. What these high commissioned salespeople won't tell you is many of those same condos are available to you for as little as $100 for a week.

And while most timeshares have a reasonable price, right now there is an even better choice to fill your vacationing needs. Namely, travel clubs. Travel clubs are agencies that form a lasting relationship with resorts, condominums and hotels, to offer the customer (you), the best accommodations, while paying less than you would normally do using other channels. Membership to such travel clubs allows you to enjoy the same quality of service, while paying a fraction of the asked price you might see in some luxury or pricey locales.

I'm about to reveal to you a secret of the industry few know about. Something your timeshare salesperson hopes you never find out. There's 52-weeks in a year. Not all of those weeks are sold. So the owners of those condos put them up for grabs through special agents. Depending on time of booking, you can get a luxury condo for as little as $100 for the week. The same condo you'd pay $15,000 for through traditional timeshare channels.

What's the catch? There is none, really. Your price ranges from $100-$400 depending on when you book. Last minute is cheaper. You're limited to what's available but you have over two million bookings to choose from each year.

There's searchable databases on the Internet. No slippery-tounged salespeople to deal with. No
maintenance fees. Or long-term commitments. Just book it, go and enjoy.
Hmm, $15,000 or $100. Easy choice isn't it? Now you know.

How To Do Group Travel with as Little Time, Money and Effort as Possible

Whether you are traveling for the first time or have racked up quite a few frequent flyer miles, when making travel plans it is always important to make them as easy as possible so that you have more time to enjoy the trip once it arrives.
There are several ways to make your trip planning easier, this includes; understanding what type of trip you are taking, figuring out a budget, discussing luggage arrangements, knowing where you will be staying and making a plan for any “must dos” once you have reached your destination. Making decisions for these elements will help your overall experience go much more smoothly.

If you are planning to take a tour around the area that you are visiting, look for group discounts on these activities. Whether you are taking a day cruise, a walking tour or renting bikes for a day of sightseeing, speak to a local travel bureau or touring company about the discounts that are available for groups. You may also find that you are eligible for discounts on things such as museum admission, art gallery tours and other events that are happening around the area that you are visiting. You may find that they require a specific amount but this is another aspect where negotiating is acceptable.

You should discuss with your group what the budget will be for your trip. It is important to find out how everyone wants to spend their money, which person will pay for what things and how much money you have to work with. You may want to appoint a “treasurer” for your group that will take on the responsibility for keeping a record of the budget in a more formal way. If you are trying to work toward a goal of saving a certain amount of money for the trip, discuss with everyone the amount that must be attained and how you are planning on going about reaching your total.

Another topic for discussion is where you will stay once you have reached your destination. Deciding on this element of your trip will affect other aspects such as your budget and other parts of your planning. It is easier to find discounts and make reservations if everyone has come to a group decision about where you will be sleeping once you arrive.

Find out what people have on their list as “must-dos” or places they have to see while you are on your trip. Inevitably you will have someone that cannot leave without seeing something or doing something while you are there. It will save the hassle of trying to fit things into your schedule once you have arrived if you make out an itinerary before you go. This way, you will be sure to see everything that is important to your travel group.

There are some important matters of business to discuss with your travel group before you begin making plans. This will make it much easier to get the planning underway and to make decisions. This list is just a brief overview of things to consider when you are in the planning stages. When you consider these issues, it will make the planning much easier.

How To Find Cheap Road Trips

Road trip planning, like many things in life, is harder than it looks. The fantasy is the idea of just jumping in your car and heading off to experience wonderful adventures. Any problems? They'll just turn into hilarious stories you'll be able to tell everyone.
Taking the time to plan your road trip can make the difference between a great vacation full of fun and adventure, and a disastrous detour down the wrong road, one you wouldn't wish on an enemy.
Going on a driving vacation means fun for the entire family, if you don't mind long hours in the car and the frequent "Are we there yet?" Since the car will play an important role in the trip, here are some things to keep in mind before hitting the road.

Get the car checked out. Make an appointment for scheduled maintenance ahead of time, like an oil change or tune-up, and make sure the tires have the right amount of air pressure. Check the windshield wipers and fluid to ensure they are working properly as well. Bring along a tire jack and jumper cables in case of emergency, and tuck a blanket, flashlight, flares, and a wrench in the trunk for good measure, along with any other tools that may be needed along the way.

Bring travel supplies for the family. A first aid kit, including something for motion sickness if one of the passengers is prone to it, pain reliever, a topical antibiotic, and bandages is a good idea. Also pack some snacks that travel well and won't make a mess. Fresh fruit in a cooler, bottled water, granola bars, and crackers with cheese make healthy, refreshing treats between stops, and can cut costs when you pack them yourself rather than buy them at a convenience store.

Plot your destination. Use an up-to-date map that can be trusted to plan each stop along the way. This includes restroom breaks and meal times. Look for scenic byways and historical sites that aren't too far off the main highway. Check ahead for construction or possible weather delays due to wildfires or mountain snow. While you may decide to deviate from the general driving plan a little bit if something exciting comes up, you'll be glad you mapped out the trip in advance so the drive will be mostly smooth and easy.

Don't take risks. Stay away from bridges that appear like they could wash out with the next rainfall. Avoid roadside vendors or stands that appear suspicious or that trade in articles whose origins you don't know. Eat at established eateries or well-lit places with a healthy-looking clientele. Avoid swimming in creeks or ponds that may contain pollution or hungry creatures. Don't sight-see in isolated areas or late at night in areas you are unfamiliar with.

Plan for contingencies. Figure out in advance what you'll do if someone gets ill, and naturally, bring along insurance cards and adequate identification for each traveler. Decide whether speed or enjoyment is the chief consideration, since some family members may want to stop for sight seeing and shopping expeditions or side trips, while others may be in a hurry to get wherever you're going. Reach consensus before your departure to avoid last minute bickering in the car and hurt feelings later.
Taking an old fashioned road trip is a great way to see the country and spend quality family time together. Plan well in advance and have fun the whole way there!

How to Find Affordable Road Trips

Today's economy demands that you might need to cut back on this summer's vacation. With the economy so low, even the vacation package deals may be too steep for a lot of us. So what's out there for alternative? Actually, we can find many alternatives if we just know how to find them.

During the fifties and the Sixties, the family car was used to be king, the main mode of transportation to see different around the country. Everybody would load into the wagon with the road maps and snacks for the long journey to grandmas house.

With gas prices finally back to levels that don't make your heart sweat every time you have to fill the tank, the idea of that dream road trip is sneaking back into the mind. Even though the cost of gasoline is going down, you can find less expensive gas along the way through websites. It's cost effective, fun for whole family (at least the first 12 hours) and was a great way to see America like you'll never see from the air.

While flying will save you time and an opportunity to earn airline miles, a general rule of thumb is if you are traveling 600 miles or less, it is probably better to drive. Despite the drop in fuel costs, airline ticket prices are still high. There are fewer flights, longer layovers, fuller flights, security lines, and baggage surcharges. Add to this cost is the transportation to and from the airport and parking!

What families value most is convenience and control. Going by car offers a number of advantages over flying. You can leave on your schedule. Pack as much as you want. Today’s vehicles have innovative storage areas that can carry your extra luggage and gear. You can stop and stretch anytime. Many families use a GPS navigation unit to chart the itinerary and find places of interest, instead of rest stops. Visit a local park or other sightseeing spots. Geography and history become real for kids when they can experience it. You certainly have more and better meal options on the road.

Stopping by the Mobil gas station for a complementary map and then maybe the library for some travel books was the way trip planning was done back then. Along came the triple A (AAA) TripTrick travel planning service and things got easier. Today's options for finding directions, landmarks, hotels, and the best way to get there advices is a mouse click away.

Planning that cheap road trip is easy. You'll get the best to get there, lists of hotels with pricing, places, to eat and almost everything you need to see America from the car. Do a search on your favorite search engine for terms like “road trip planning, cheap road trips and car trips”. You'll come up with thousands of sites where you can plan your next road trip.

So pack the snacks, the pajamas and some print outs. You're headed for a great vacation on the cheap.

Group Travel Is Easy Now

The days of endless phone calls to your travel agent and fellow travelers mironing out the minute details of your coming group travel excursion are gone.

As the coordinator, it was a stressful and head aching making plan and executing a group trip.

But the things has already changed. The travel industries have realized that groups can fill palne seats, hotel rooms and tour buses.

Today, you can book your travel experiences online in just few minutes. There's a lot of excellent values and special rates available in many popular travel destinations around the world.

Holy Land Tours, Adventure tours for team building, Vegas Entertainment packages and many themes are all available and are clicks away from you if you want a special travel theme.

The best part here, You can do price comparisons and see all accommodations right from your computer.

Concierge services can do all of the clicking and booking for you and will you the itinerary. They can find free on the internet. Just tell them your destination and things you want to do and ta da!you're on your way!Though its olda fashion service but its with high tech flavor.

How To Find Cheap Condo Rentals in Exotic Locations

Today's economy demands shrewd price shopping if you want to take that dream vacation. The family vacation budget isn't as big as it use to be.

The good news is there's plenty of bargains out there if you know how to look. It would be nice to rent a 3-bedroom Spanish villa in the Mediterranean for a week. One that's on the beach, has a full kitchen, Jacuzzi and plush amenities. A villa that has room for the whole family.

Something that luxurious could set you back a couple thousand. But what if you could find a condo owner that's willing to settle for just $100 for the whole week? Now that's a cheap condo rental. But your chance of finding a deal like that on your own is pretty slim. Notice the key phrase there..."on your own".

The economy is working against both the vacationer and the condo owner so deals can be had with the right strategies. You may be asking why would a condo owner rent his villa for such a cheap price? Economic pressures being what they are, the condo owner realizes something is better than nothing. The math goes something like this.

There's 52 weeks available every year. The typical condo or vacation villa can have a 20-40% vacancy rate. Meaning they have many weeks left to book. No booking, no income. So a hundred bucks sounds pretty good. Plus they get the publicity and amazing word-of-mouth when you return and share your vacation photos with your friends and relatives.

"Wow!" you say. But - what's the catch. There's no catch. You just need to book your rental a week ahead of time. You see, that late in the game the owner knows they're not going to rent it at full price so they'll let it go for a song.

You win. They win.

Now, how do you find these owners? The best way is to use a booking service that has millions of these type of deals available every year. Start by doing an Internet search for "cheap condo rentals". That should get you in the ballpark. The little bit of research you do can save you a bundle every year and make those dream vacations still possible.

Happy vacation.
